Fwd: I-215 News: Full SB I-215 Closure in San Bernardino December 11-12

Hello,

We would like to inform you about an Interstate 215 closure planned to take place the weekend of December 11 and 12.

The closure is necessary as crews work to shift southbound I-215 traffic to the middle of the freeway so that on- and off-ramp configuration work for Baseline Street and 5th Street can continue to move forward. Crews will close southbound I-215 on Saturday, December 11 at 8 p.m. and will reopen on Sunday, December 12 at 8 p.m. The southbound lanes will be shut down at Mt. Vernon Avenue/27th Street with traffic being detoured to 2nd Street to re-enter I-215.

Included in the following link is the closure alert and detour map: http://www.sanbag.ca.gov/215/215-construction/Caltrans_closure_12-11-10.pdf

Please let us know if you have problems opening the PDF. If you know anyone who would like to receive the traffic advisories, please send their email contact information to us.

In addition, we are currently meeting with service organizations and community groups within the project area giving in-person presentations on the I-215 expansion. If you belong to an organization that would benefit from learning more about the expansion, please contact Carrie Gilbreth at (909) 886-8188.

Thanks,

Jane Dreher
